During compressor operation, a large amount of heat is generated and discharged through the cooling air. This finned tube heat exchanger captures that thermal energy. Hot air passes through the finned tube bundle, while cooling water or glycol flows inside the tubes in a counter-flow arrangement. The extended fin surface greatly increases heat transfer efficiency, enabling significant energy recovery without causing high pressure losses.
